Role: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Leamington Spa – MTC, on-site

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 plus benefits
Ricardo’s Performance Products division are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team that define the manufacturing process, estimate machining times of components, support the realisation of the quoted times, and look for further opportunities to reduce cost.
Responsibilities
1. Estimate manufacturing process and machining times to achieve the design specification, ensuring the most cost-effective approach.
2. Develop and implement, through a hands-on approach, manufacturing processes to efficiently machine components, continually looking to reduce the costs.
3. Specification/design of tooling, fixturing and equipment to support manufacturing processes, including its procurement, commissioning, and implementation.
4. Provide cutting data to ensure optimum performance and realisation of estimated times.
5. Support all team members to ensure the realisation of the quoted manufacturing times.
6. Work with the production and engineering teams to reduce the ‘Cost of Poor Quality.’
7. Liaison with the design authority to ensure correct understanding of intent and process requirements.
8. Support shop floor with issue resolution.
9. Create routings for new/up issued parts.
Essential
1. Have a proven background working in a machine shop with extensive knowledge of tools, equipment and processes for milling and turning.
2. Hands on approach to problem solving and cost reduction.
3. Working in a formal Quality framework.
4. Continuous Improvement drive.
5. Good PC skills and Business System experience.
Preferred
1. Experience of working in a production environment for a precision, low volume customer base.
2. Automotive or similar industry experience.
3. Gear form manufacturing knowledge/experience.
4. Heat Treatment knowledge/experience.
5. 5 axis CAD/CAM programming experience.
