MAIN FUNCTIONS
As a highly skilled and valued member of the mechanical maintenance team, the candidate will play a key role in working safely to deliver world-class maintenance competitiveness as part of the overall site transformation roadmap.
Working with one of the leading energy companies in the world as part of the routine and base maintenance team, the candidate will be responsible for:
1. Partnering with the First Line Supervisor to actively develop and build safety capacity through the use of the Personal Safety Management System (Tools), once trained.
2. Demonstrating a high level of resilience, ownership, and innovation in solving an array of mechanical maintenance problems.
3. Collaborating with the site operations team to safely and efficiently execute planned maintenance tasks on site.
4. Collaborating with site planning and supervision to ensure the safest and most efficient preventative maintenance and defect repairs are carried out on mechanical equipment, both at the initial planning phase and as part of After Action Reviews to continuously improve how we work.
5. Carrying out Root Cause Failure Analysis on equipment failures and working with other functions (Operations, Engineering) to mitigate future recurrence.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assists mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery, such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, and machines.
2. Helps prepare proposals and cost estimates.
3. Actively participates in the use of all on-the-job safety tools.
4. Reviews job packs and identifies any safety issues associated with the job, ensuring removal/mitigation prior to working.
5. Executes work as planned and records technical history as required by the work group (Global Reliability Tool (GRT), data sheet, etc.).
6. Provides feedback on job pack improvements to Execution FLS.
7. Requests permits and notifies Supervisor if permits cannot be issued within 30 minutes of the requested time.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
1. Discipline appropriate certification(s) if applicable or equivalent professional experience.
2. Strong communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely describe conditions in the field and recommend remediation steps.
3. Team Player; exhibits effective teamwork when working with persons over whom the person may have no direct authority and willingness to assist others.
4. Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.

3. Have successfully completed an apprenticeship to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a Mechanical trade; HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent will be advantageous.
4. Have experience working within the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical Industry.
5. Have a good command of written and spoken English.
6. Be effective at delivering results both independently and as part of a mechanical maintenance team.
7. Have a conscientious, careful, and independent way of working in order to deliver results in the field.
8. Fluency with computer and IT systems, including Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel).
9. Ideally be fluent in the use of data management systems such as SAP.
10. Have the ability to safely adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities, including flexibility to work out of hours where required.
11. Demonstrate strong communication skills; with the ability to clearly and concisely describe conditions in the field and recommend remediation steps.
