We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher specialising in Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) to deliver the English curriculum at Inscape House School, our day school for young people aged 5 to 19. Depending on your skills and experience, we offer both Grade 4 and Grade 5 positions. Please refer to the job description for further details on each grade. Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults is a key priority for all staff.
- Hours: 37.5 per week
- Working Pattern: 52 weeks per year
- Salary: £39,327 - £45,518 per annum (dependant on experience)
- Location: Inscape House School, Cheadle, Stockport
- Contract: Maternity cover, 1-year fixed term
- Teaching: Deliver the English National Curriculum, including Entry Level and GCSE, for students in Key Stages 3, 4, and Post-16.
- Adaptation: Modify curriculum delivery to suit the diverse needs of students with ASC.
- High Standards: Set and maintain high expectations to inspire and challenge students in both academic and social development.
Grade 4 Responsibilities
- Effectively deploy Education Assistants (EAs) to support student learning, promoting independence.
- Cultivate accountability among EAs to support students' academic and social growth.
- Lead and manage a team of Education Assistants.
Grade 5 Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a subject area, such as the English curriculum team.
- Line manage staff following Trust policy, supporting their development to build a culture of accountability.
- Set agendas for meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
- Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience: Previous experience working with autistic children
- Curriculum Knowledge: Strong understanding of the English curriculum, including Entry Level, Functional Skills, and GCSEs
- Resilience: High level of personal resilience
- Safeguarding Knowledge: Understanding of Safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education
