MMP Consultancy is seeking a Property Surveyor on behalf of a Local Authority based in the East Midlands. This is a temporary position for 3 months subject to extension. The rate of pay is £33ph via an umbrella company over a 37.5 hour working week.\n\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and diagnosing building defects, managing complex repairs, and ensuring excellent service delivery in line with our standards and statutory obligations.
This is a field-based role covering the East Midlands with flexibility to work from home or across other sites when needed.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nOwnership of case works from inspection through to completion, including follow-up correspondence.\nDeliver accurate diagnostics and prescribe effective solutions for a wide range of property issues.\nLiaise with residents, contractors, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of works.\nConduct technical surveys, produce detailed reports, and provide building pathology expertise across the organisation.\nSupport leaseholder works, void specifications, and adaptation requests.\nReview and assess home improvement applications to protect the client's assets.\nContribute to developing best practices, training colleagues, and improving our property repair standards.\n What We're Looking For\n\nRelevant professional qualification in surveying (or demonstrable experience with a path to qualification).\nExperience within social housing or a similar regulatory environment is highly desirable.\nIn-depth understanding of building pathology and experience with Disrepair Protocol.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills - capable of producing technical reports such as Scott Schedules.\nConfident in managing large or complex projects independently, including health & safety compliance and budget considerations.\nCollaborative team player who is comfortable working alone and travelling across the region.\nStrong diagnostic, investigative, and project management skills.\nKnowledge of property legislation, health and safety, and contract management.\nExperience with insurance claims, leaseholder queries, and risk assessments.\nProficient in using housing management systems and digital tools for property inspections and reporting
