What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Production & Supply Chain Planner, your role will involve a range of key responsibilities aimed at ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of production schedules. Your daily tasks will include:
1. Creating and managing production schedules: You’ll be responsible for developing detailed, accurate production plans based on forecasted demand, working closely with the production team to ensure timely execution.
2. Liaising with internal stakeholders: Communicating effectively with departments such as production, procurement, and sales to gather relevant information and update schedules as needed.
3. Monitoring inventory levels: You will track raw materials and finished goods inventories, ensuring that the supply chain is in balance to meet production requirements and avoid delays.
4. Managing production risks and identifying issues: Proactively identifying potential disruptions in production timelines, including supply chain delays, staffing issues, or machinery downtime, and taking steps to mitigate these risks.
5. Ensuring adherence to quality standards: Collaborating with the quality control team to ensure that production schedules align with the company’s strict quality standards.
6. Reporting and documentation: Maintaining accurate records of production plans, stock levels, and any changes to the schedules, as well as providing regular updates to management.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
1. Proven experience in production and supply chain planning: You’ll need to have worked in a manufacturing environment, where you have developed the skills to manage production schedules and coordinate with various departments.
2. Strong communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for liaising with stakeholders across different teams to keep everyone aligned.
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office: A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is key for managing schedules, inventories, and reporting. Experience with other Office tools like Word and PowerPoint is also beneficial.
4. ERP system experience: Previous experience working with ERP systems will be essential in managing production data and inventory systems effectively.
5. Strong organisational skills: You will be juggling multiple tasks at once, so the ability to prioritize and stay organized under pressure is critical.
6. Attention to detail: Your role will require you to ensure that all plans are accurate and timelines are met without fail, so a keen eye for detail is vital.
