Hours: 40 hours per week (Term Time Only)
Are you a passionate English teacher looking for a leadership role within a specialist education setting? We are seeking an experienced Lead SEN English Teacher to drive progress and inspire young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
About the Role:
In this role, you will lead and develop the English curriculum across the school, ensuring that students make strong progress in literacy, phonics, and career readiness. You'll work closely with staff to ensure high-quality teaching, as well as coordinate and track key interventions to support student success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the English curriculum, including literacy, phonics, and careers guidance.
2. Organise and oversee targeted literacy and phonics interventions, ensuring effective delivery and tracking.
3. Support and train staff in delivering inclusive English lessons that meet the needs of all students.
4. Act as the school's Careers Officer, ensuring compliance with Gatsby Benchmarks for career guidance.
Requirements:
5. Qualifications: PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed, or equivalent.
6. Experience: Proven experience working with students with SEN, ASD, SLD/PMLD, and managing behaviours that challenge.
7. Skills: Strong leadership skills with a passion for delivering differentiated and inclusive curriculums.
