We are home to the functions that help us lead the way in vehicle design and development of the vehicles manufactured in our European plants. The teams at the Cranfield Nissan Technical Centre work to develop engineering and design requirements for new car models across the world. Here youfind departments such as Research & Development, Product Economic Control, Purchasing, Legal, HR, Finance and Total Customer Satisfaction, all enjoying modern on-site facilities like our gym, sports, and social club.PurposeThis 12 month Research & Development industrial placement, starting in August 2025, is a great chance to take theory from university and put it into practice in a fast-paced environment. This provides a chance for real responsibility and hands-on experience in a challenging and diverse environment.Main Tasks & ResponsibilitiesYou will spend a year working with our connected car systems, which the customer uses to remotely control their car via their smartphone.This includes the Nissan Connect App, Online store and their interaction with multiple offboard systems to enable features such as Stolen Vehicle Tracking, remote commands, intelligent route planner, Apple watch control and morePerform testing for connected car services in the vehicle related to the Nissan Connect mobile app and smartwatch.Perform testing for vehicle telematics features Planning the test resources to be available before the start of the validationDefining test cases based on technical specifications of connected car features.Confirming vehicle level quality, function & reliability standards are maintained when changes are implemented.Raise incident tickets in the incident management system and track them through to closure.Support automated test developmentMarket quality investigations and countermeasure development, when neededSkills you would develop:Software validation project managementSupplier managementSoftware development process (V-cycle)Software risk analysis and test definitionSoftware quality concern management and resolution (Jira, Test Rail etc)Software Test Automation methodsRoot cause analysis and problem solvingWhat you will need to be successfulYbou should be studying for one of the below qualification(s): UndergraduateElectronic\/Electrical EngineeringComputer ScienceComputer NetworkingTelecoms and networkingIT \/ Data analystThe successful candidate should have the following skills, interests, or experience:An interest in vehicle electronicsCuriosity and passion for customer facing technologiesReadiness to work in a multinational teamConfidence when presentingMethodical, systematic approach to solving problemsGood planning, organising and time management skills.Be self-motivating and self-managing, Pro-active, energetic, and flexible regarding working practice and working hours.Sufficient evidence of your right to work in the UK will be required.What we offerWe firmly believe that investment in our employees is integral to their growth and success.
