We have a great opportunity for a Mechanic to join our Motor Transport team at Glasgow Prestwick Airport in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment. The ideal candidate will be educated to a minimum of SVQ level 3 and must hold a current UK driving licence.
Owned by the Scottish Government, Glasgow Prestwick Airport directly employs circa 300 people and supports over 4,000 jobs across the aerospace cluster. Situated in the heart of Scotland’s aerospace industry, we offer a diverse range of in-house aviation services providing vital connections to the rest of the world.
This is a permanent role, reporting directly to the Head of MT, Fleet, Civils Engineering and E-Commerce, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 0800 – 1600 hours.
Qualifications/Experience
* Must be a time-served mechanic at a minimum of SVQ level 3.
* Experience of servicing & maintaining vehicles, plant & equipment to a high standard.
* Experience of preparing & presenting vehicles for MOT testing.
* Current UK driving licence.
* Ability to obtain a full Airside driving licence (Red Pass).
Knowledge & experience of maintaining:
* GSE within an Airport environment
* Forklift trucks
* Grass cutting equipment
Experience of working on:
* Vehicle electrical systems
* Hydraulic systems
* Pneumatic systems
* Minor welding & fabrication works
* IOSH working safely (or equivalent). Experience of LOLER inspections.
* Experience of working at heights
* MEWP licences 3a & 3b
* Previous radio communications experience.

* Good oral, written and interpersonal communications skills;
* Ability to liaise with all levels of stakeholders, both internal and external;
