Job summary We are looking for a flexible and dynamic staff member to join our team to be the CAMHS representative within the Youth Offending Team provision. The role will consist of supporting the YOT team around MH needs, providing consultation to the network and conducting assessments and intervention where required. The post will sit within the CAMHS Specialist Trauma and Relational Therapies team and be a valuable member of the SpCAMHS MDT. The post holder will have experience in conducting MH assessments, be confident in working with partners and engaging with young people. They should also be willing to learn additional skills to fulfil the demands of the role. The post holder will be given specialist supervision and be trained in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy to at least Level 2. The CAMHS team is a strong and supportive team and has excellent structures to offer regular supervision and support. Main duties of the job The post holder would offer a mental health perspective to the multi-agency youth justice service through assessment and treatment, joint work, and participation in team meetings, whilst being supported by the Child and Adolescent Mental Health service. The post requires the holder as a member of a multi-disciplinary agency team to maintain a caseload and provide direct clinical work that demonstrates a high level of specialist skill in treating the client system, where families have multi-complex and often long-standing difficulties. All children and young people are seen in the context of their family or support network, requiring a wide range of interventions for straightforward mental health problems to highly complex systemic areas.
