A fantastic opportunity has arisen in the Ophthalmology Department in Ipswich Hospital for a Band 6 Team Leader, primarily in the operating theatres, but with interest in the Ophthalmology department as a whole.

As a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high standards of peri-operative clinical practice and individualised patient care within a designated theatre team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide effective leadership that supports and promotes confidence and development of team members to meet service requirements.
2. Provide specialist knowledge and skills in Theatre and Anaesthetic practice and lead the continuing development of this area through research and clinical effectiveness, initiating and implementing change.
3. Assist in the smooth functioning of the Operating Department through liaison with other Theatres and Recovery rooms, wards and hospital departments, clinic and retinal suite.
4. Actively promote a safe and attractive environment, acting as a role model encouraging learning and the development of new ideas.
5. Take responsibility for the management of the theatre teams/department in the absence of the unit/suite manager.
