Job Title: Accounts Assistant Location: DE23 Salary: Up to £27,000 per annum (depending on experience) Hours: Full-time or Part-time (flexible) About the Role: I'm working with a small but highly reputable SME engineering business that is looking to add a motivated and adaptable Accounts Administrator to their team. Key Responsibilities: Manage daily accounts administration, including processing invoices, payments, and expenses Assist with monthly reconciliation and ensure all financial records are up-to-date and accurate Maintain financial documentation, ensuring compliance with internal and external policies Support payroll processing, entering timesheets, and assisting with pay runs Act as the first point of contact for supplier and customer queries, ensuring prompt and clear communication Provide general administrative support across the business, including filing and data entry Assist with VAT returns and any tax-related activities, working closely with the Finance Manager Help with month-end and year-end processes, including preparing reports for senior management Collaborate with various departments to ensure the smooth completion of tasks About You: The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach and enjoy a varied role, thriving in a fast-paced, small business environment. You should have some prior experience in an accounts or administration role, ideally within an SME, and be comfortable wearing multiple hats. A willingness to learn new tasks is key to this role, and experience with Opera (Sage) or a similar accounting software would be a real advantage.
