Job description
The Waste Disposal team are responsible for the management of over 100,000 tonnes of household waste collected from our residents and other activities across the city. We have a vacancy for an Operational Support Officer to join our small team, tasked with working with residents to encourage waste minimisation and recycling in the city.
We may be biased, but there has never been a more exciting time to work in waste. The Opportunity
In the role of Streetpride Operational Support Officer, here’s an example of what you’ll be doing to make an impact:
Supporting our team by carrying out a range of duties. The duties include managing service requests, allocating work to our Waste Minimisation Officers, speaking to residents, taking card payments and general administration.
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have...
Experience of dealing with public, queries and complaints
Experience of maintaining and updating office records and general administration duties
Experience of using computer systems and Microsoft Software to prepare reports, spreadsheets and maintain databases, update records and process orders
Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing and give efficient attention to callers
Good standard of general education - GCSE passes in English & Maths Grade C or above (or equivalent).
Knowledge and awareness of the Equality Act 2010 and how it applies to this job
Ensure that equality issues are identified, promoted and managed in all areas of your work.
Good communicator.
Ablilty to work as part of a team
Ability to keep calm under pressure and coping with diversity of workload
