Each year over 70,000 wax garments are sent back to Barbour globally to be repaired, rewaxed or altered.
Position Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a Stylist to join our dynamic and fast-paced creative team based at our in-house Studio in South Shields. You will become a lead member of our styling function, along with our other team members, whose purpose is to deliver and develop our styling presentation across all brand assets from lead campaigns to ecommerce photography. We are looking for an outstanding talent with particular experience in womenswear but men's and children's also beneficial.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Creative excellence & commercial acumen:
1. Work with the Brand and design teams to develop the styling for Barbour womenswear across all collections for campaign and ecommerce assets on and off model.
2. Collaborate closely with design and sales teams to understand creative & commercial goals of each brand/collection and execute through styling.
3. Work with the in-house creative team of photographers and more junior styling team members to ensure styling excellence across our ecommerce photography.
4. Work closely with production, photographers and art directors to ensure that each campaign shoot brief/concept is understood and delivered.
5. Further flesh out creative concepts by creating styling/product mood boards in-line with each specific shoot brief.
6. Expert knowledge of key trends and how we can translate them for the Barbour and Barbour International brands.
7. Bring expert product knowledge (both creative and commercial) to every project you work on.
8. Ensure styling is seasonally appropriate and relevant to drop strategy.
9. Attend and influence seasonal styling sessions for global campaign and ecommerce shoots.
10. Work in collaboration with our other Senior Stylist to create ecommerce styling guides that are updated seasonally.
Attention to detail:
1. Support in the creation of shoot garment lists ensuring product information is accurate.
2. Prep garments ahead of shoots.
3. Ensure that all products are looked after and correctly stored/transported across all projects.
4. Ensure that all pre and post shoot processes are correctly followed.
5. Ensure that correct stock management processes are implemented correctly at all times.
Skills and Experience:
1. Experience working as a full-time stylist (either freelance or in-house) with a higher level of experience working as a womenswear stylist.
2. Previous experience working for a global brand or retailer is preferred.
3. Significant experience of working on busy shoot set (both location & studio).
4. A passionate fashion stylist with experience in both on and off-model shoots.
5. A creative mind who has a strong understanding of commercial strategies.
6. A robust knowledge of trends and brands.
7. High competence using MAC Operating systems.
8. High competence using Microsoft Office (Excel/PPT).
9. A self-motivated person who is able to take and give direction.
10. A confident hard worker who always strives for the best end-result.
11. Exemplary attention to detail.
12. Ability to develop systems and processes and ensure they are followed.
13. A team player and collaborator, comfortable working across departments and with different creative roles i.e., photographers, other stylists on the team, production team.
