About The Role
Hounslow Council is looking for an experienced, established and ambitious Senior Communications Officer to lead a best-in-class media and public affairs influencing effort.
The role presents a fantastic opportunity to join one of London’s most ambitious councils at a pivotal time. You will be crucial to ensuring residents, communities and businesses are engaged with the Council, aware of services and opportunities, understand our vision and decisions, and are proud of where they live and work.

About The Team You’ll Be Working In
This role will entail reporting to the Council’s Senior Communications Manager (Media and Public Affairs) and the right candidate will work closely with the Public Affairs Manager and the campaigns team.
The role will also involve working closely with senior internal stakeholders, Cabinet Members and the Leader of the Hounslow to enhance the Council’s reputation.
About You
We need a dynamic, can-do professional, to manage the delivery of our campaigns, which supports the Council’s outcomes, encourages positive engagement with residents and enhances the reputation of the Council.
You will have a proven track record of managing high-profile and sensitive media issues, which are highly complex, sensitive or contentious. We are looking for a candidate that has experience of working under pressure, meeting tight deadlines and adapting flexibly to changing circumstances and priorities.
An effective team player, you will also have experience working across different departments and working for large, complex organisations. If you have the skills to galvanise people and organisations to your communications objective, then this is the job for you!
Qualifications:
Educated to degree level or equivalent communications qualification. (e.g. CIPR diploma).
