About the Company
Our client, a respected name in the Civil Engineering and Construction sector, is committed to delivering high-quality infrastructure and building projects across the North East. They are currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Trainee Planner to support their planning team and develop into a key contributor in project lifecycle planning and programme management.
Key Responsibilities

Support Senior Planners in developing detailed and logical project programmes.

Assist with planning works across all lifecycle phases — from tender through to project completion.
*
Collaborate with site and project teams to understand timelines, milestones, and resource requirements.
*
Contribute to the monitoring and updating of project schedules, identifying risks and opportunities.
*
Help prepare planning documentation and reports for internal and client-facing purposes.
*
Develop your technical knowledge and planning capabilities through structured training and on-the-job learning.
Requirements
*
A keen interest in construction planning and project management.
*
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
*
Good IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to planning software (e.g. Asta Powerproject or Primavera P6) is a bonus but not essential.
*
Relevant academic background (e.g. Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline) – HNC/Degree preferred but not essential.
*
A proactive, team-oriented approach with a willingness to learn and grow.
*
A full UK driving licence is desirable.
