A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join BEAR Scotland North West Operations team as an Electrician in our Inverness or Kingussie office. The North West Trunk Road Unit spans some 1,422km of trunk road through some of the most scenic parts of the country. It also includes 1,501 bridges and structures, including the Kessock Bridge which carries the A9 north of Inverness and the A87 Skye Crossing. The North West Unit covers a huge area of Scotland, from Thurso and Wick in the very north of the Highlands down to Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute, from Uig on Skye to Perth and Stirling in the central belt. The Electrician will undertake cyclic and reactive repairs to electrical street furniture across the North West of Scotland. The successful applicant will work within shift requirements and participate in an emergency standby rota. This role also occasionally requires periods away from the operational base. Role includes : Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults efficiently to minimize disruptions to road users. Strictly adhering to safety standards and regulations to uphold the safety of the public and your team. Providing technical expertise and recommendations for continuous improvements. Knowledge, Skills and Experience : Completion of a recognised training programme. Familiar with the standard of BS7671. Previous experience of inspecting and maintaining private electrical supplies. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to perform efficiently under demanding conditions. Strong teamwork and communication skills. In-depth knowledge of electrical safety regulations and practices. Willingness to work in various conditions, including heights and confined spaces. A fully approved UK driving licence. Why BEAR?
