This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Design Engineer located in Lyndon, Rutland, with responsibility for designing and developing mechanical systems, creating detailed product designs, and working on machine design projects.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will create, draft, and design product layouts using customer specification and recommendations utilising SolidWorks computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and refine product and mechanical designs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring that project specifications and deadlines are met. The role also involves hands-on work in our state-of-the-art facilities and requires close cooperation with other engineering teams.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in Design Engineering, Injection Mold Tool Machine Design, and Product Design
* Expertise in Mechanical Engineering and Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
* Fluent in SolidWorks, including surfacing, solid body and sheet metal modelling with experience of FEA, CFD and Plastics are desirable including good coherence in PDM workflows / lifecycles
* Autodesk MoldFlow capabilities are desirable
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
* Excellent communication skills
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
* Good understanding in metrology
* Good knowledge in thermal mechanics
* 5+ years minimum experience in mechanical design engineering or related field, ideally with greater than 3 years committed to one employment.
* 3D printer savvy
* Workshop experience
