Reporting daily to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the in-house engineering team and third-party contractors to deliver planned preventative (PPM) and emergency reactive maintenance across the portfolio. This role ensures that all engineering practices meet legal standards, provide value for money, and align with user expectations. You will provide technical advice where required to clients while on site. You will be working alongside likeminded and supportive colleagues in order to provide a great customer service. Duties Lead and manage the operational maintenance team to ensure the safe, reliable and compliant maintenance of all building services. Develop a customer-focused engineering team through coaching and management. Prioritise workloads effectively to meet operational needs and customer expectations. Provide technical guidance and direction to the team and external contractors to maintain high standards. Ensure accurate recording and management of maintenance data for all assets. Work closely with the Operations Manager / Director to optimise the performance of the engineering team and plant across all sites Support various engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the required standards. Complete quotations for maintenance works and ensure that invoicing is always up to date Provide exceptional customer service and answer any client questions or relay these questions back to the office. Experience - extensive and proven track record in a similar role with M&E technical knowledge. Degree qualified engineer / building professional or equivalent practical experience. Technical expertise with an in-depth knowledge of the working practices and demands of complex public and/ or listed buildings. Strong skills in budgetary control and project management. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proficiency in clear, professional English. Must be able to listen, negotiate and assert where necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft office particularly Excel. Professional Development – evidence of CPD (Continual Professional Development) Positive attitude and work ethic.
