About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Journalist to join the team at Aesthetics Journal, the leading monthly publication for medical aesthetics professionals. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of key editorial responsibilities, produce high-quality content, and contribute to the journal’s growth and engagement. The Journalist will also play a pivotal role in event content creation and industry networking, with opportunities for travel and presenting at industry events.
Editorial Responsibilities
* Lead news production for the journal on alternate months.
* Source and gather news through calls, checklists, and industry updates.
* Liaise with PR agencies and clients for content.
* Proofread the work of junior team members.
* Produce high-quality written content and features.
* Edit and proofread articles from external medical authors.
* Handle membership-related queries via email, social media, and phone.
* Oversee journal distribution and mailing when necessary.
* Interview and collaborate with key industry names.
Event Content & Industry Engagement
* Support content agenda creation for two B2B conferences.
* Promote events through editorial channels and social media.
* Assist with onsite management of theatres and speaker sessions.
* Attend industry events, conferences, product launches, clinic openings, and press events.
* Participate in international press trips with companies and clients.
* Engage in event presenting, including on-stage hosting at Aesthetics-related and external events.
* Play an integral role in the planning and execution of The Aesthetics Awards.
Key Skills & Experience
* At least two years' experience in a journalistic role.
* NCTJ or equivalent journalism qualification.
* Proven experience as a journalist (preferably in the medical aesthetics, beauty, or healthcare sectors but not required).
* Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and produce high-quality content under pressure.
* Strong networking and relationship-building skills with industry stakeholders.
* Confident in presenting and public speaking at industry events.
* Experience managing editorial inboxes and handling reader queries.
* Ability to work independently as well as collaborate within a dynamic team environment.
* Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content distribution.
