This position is part of our growing research portfolio on the role of human factors on safety of automated systems, and will involve designing, setting up and conducting user trials (using driving simulators, focus groups, surveys etc.), research on user-acceptance and trust in automation (including assistance systems), human-machine-interface design, while working in collaboration with industry and academic partners. Successful candidate will be exposed to a variety of academic and industrial partners through a number of our research projects like Horizon Europe funded SUNRISE, SYNERGIES, EVENTS, i4Driving etc., and UKRI / Innovate UK / CCAV funded, UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship, DriveSafeAI. About You The successful candidate will have a background in human factors or cognitive psychology or social behaviour research, including a good understanding of conducting driving or aviation simulator studies (involving evaluating human-automation interaction) and users’ trials, including analysis data from such studies. They are expected to have an understanding of trust and acceptance of automation (in the context of automated vehicles / ADAS or flight automation).
