Position Title: Fundraising Consultant and Bid Writer Organisation: Lister Steps Location: Liverpool/ Hybrid Contract Type: Consultancy Application Deadline: 15 th November 2024 Background: Lister Steps is a long established, successful charity. We deliver a wide range of community services including childcare and family support, education and skill building activities, opportunities for people to come together, volunteer, find support, make friends, socialise and have fun. Our café serves the local community with healthy, affordable food and provides a space for people to keep warm. We also provide a high-quality venue for weddings, parties and performance. We address the isolation, ill-health, poverty and the high rates of worklessness and anti-social behaviour that are prevalent in our community. We operate from The Old Library, a truly amazing heritage building that has served the community of Tuebrook, Liverpool for over 100 years. We are trusted and popular and welcome over 300 individual children, families and their neighbours into our centre every week. However, we recognize the need for expert guidance to navigate the evolving fundraising landscape and to diversify our income streams. Key Objectives: Assessment of Current Fundraising Strategies: Evaluate existing programs to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. Strategic Planning: Develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy tailored to our goals, including major gifts, grant writing, corporate sponsorships, and individual giving, legacy. Capacity Building: Provide training and support for staff and volunteers to enhance their fundraising skills and confidence. Bid Writing: Identify funding opportunities and complete bids Engagement Strategies: Design donor engagement and stewardship plans to foster long-term relationships with supporters. Measurable Outcomes: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for assessing the effectiveness of implemented strategies. Scope of work Conduct a thorough analysis of current fundraising efforts and market trends. Facilitate workshops and training sessions for staff and volunteers. Create tailored fundraising plans and timelines. Provide ongoing support and consultation throughout the implementation phase. Qualifications: Proven track record and experience as a fundraiser. Strong understanding of the current funding landscape. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with trustees, senior managers and key stakeholders. Relevant qualification in fundraising, marketing or a related field.
