Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Control System Engineer with experience of working on special purpose automated machinery to join a Blackburn based systems integrator. The company is looking for a Control System Engineer with knowledge of software writing, wider electrical engineering knowledge and practical experience of site based commissioning.
The successful Control System Engineer will require experience in some of the following areas:
* PLC programming (ideally Siemens or Rockwell)
* Automated machinery experience
* Able to write high quality Functional Design Specifications
* Practical experience of site based commissioning
* Full project life cycle experience – delivering projects from start to finish
* Drive systems design and programming (ac drives, servo drives and dc drives)
* Integration of drives with PLC systems
* Setting up and tuning variable speed drives
* Control panel design experience – ideal/not essential, opportunity to be trained in EPLAN
* Control panel testing and fault finding on existing systems
The successful Control System Engineer will be involved in all aspects of a project from specification through to on-site commissioning, so some travel to customer sites will be expected. This could include overseas travel on rare occasions, possibly once every couple of years. The Technical Director estimates a split of 80/20 between being based in the office and on customer site, with a regular/medium sized project expected to be 6-7 weeks in the office, then 1 week on site.
You must have a current, clean UK driving licence.
The client is based in Lancashire and they’re easily commutable from the Greater Manchester area, Bury, Bolton, Chorley, Wigan, Accrington, Preston, Blackburn and Burnley.
