As part of our commitment to the continued expansion of medical, pharmaceutical and health sciences at Bangor University, we are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Pharmacology with expertise in pharmacogenomics to contribute to research and teaching activities within the North Wales Medical School. Applications are invited from candidates with a PhD (or near completion) in pharmacology, pharmacogenomics or a related discipline. The post-holder will contribute to teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate curricula including the Health Education and Improvement Wales commissioned module in pharmacogenomics for healthcare professionals, and modules within the pharmacology, pharmacy (subject to accreditation) and biomedical sciences degree programmes. Research opportunities centre around the implementation of pharmacogenomic services in Wales in close collaboration with the All Wales Medical Genomics Service, and genomics associated with cancer pharmacology within the North West Cancer Research Institute. The post is full-time and permanent, and the successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as practical. The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh is desirable for this role. If applicants are not able to speak / write in Welsh at present, there are many opportunities to learn if the successful candidate wishes to do so.
