Vulcain Engineering Group is a global leader in engineering consultancy services, with operations in 40 countries and a team of over 3000 staff worldwide. We are now seeking a Senior Welding Inspector to join our UK business, which is well-positioned within the UK Nuclear industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating welding and fabrication activities, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, standard, and client requirements. This will include inspecting and witnessing welds, reviewing visual welding inspection reports, and liaising with non-destructive testing subcontractors.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring compliance with all aspects of welding and fabrication activities
* Advising on compliance with legal, regulatory, standard, and client requirements
* Inspecting and witnessing welds in line with relevant specifications
* Reviewing visual welding inspection reports
* Liaising with non-destructive testing subcontractors
* Reviewing and interpreting radiographs of weldments to ensure compliance to standards prior to client review
* Reviewing non-destructive testing reports to ensure compliance to standards prior to client review
* Reviewing population of weld maps for on-site welding works
* Witnessing and inspecting on-site welding and fabrication works
* Inspecting and reviewing on-site installation and assembly of fabricated products to ensure compliance to requirements
* Reviewing and verifying welding documentation to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, standard, and client requirements for completion of works
* Assisting in compilation of life-time quality records
* Reviewing documentation to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, standard, and client requirements for completion of works
Essential qualifications and professional accreditations include:
* CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector
* PCN Level 2 Dye Penetrant Inspector
* PCN Level 2 Radiographic Interpretation
* SC Clearance or ability to obtain
Due to the nature of the work, candidates will be required to undergo a security clearance and must have permanent and independent right to work in the UK.
