Job Title: SEN Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with complex needs? A supportive and inclusive primary school in Harlow is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.
This rewarding role offers the chance to work closely with children who require additional support, helping them to overcome barriers and achieve their personal and educational goals.
Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with complex needs, including autism, global developmental delay, physical disabilities, and speech and language difficulties.
* Support students with personal care, sensory regulation, and communication needs as required.
* Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet individual needs, promoting engagement and progress.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and external specialists to implement personalized education plans (EHCPs).
* Foster a positive, nurturing environment that encourages independence, confidence, and emotional well-being.
* Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to staff and parents.
Requirements:
* Experience supporting children with complex needs or in a similar SEN role is highly desirable.
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude.
* Understanding of a range of SEN, including ASD, SEMH, sensory processing, and physical disabilities.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills.
* Willingness to support with personal care tasks if required.
* A commitment to promoting inclusion and helping children achieve their potential.
