Fairhouse Primary School has an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join our fantastic team as soon as possible.
The position is for 30 hours per week, 8:45am to 3:15pm with a 30 minute break, Monday to Friday. Term time only for 39 weeks a year (including 5 inset days).
Salary Scale 3 to Scale 4 (Range 5 to 8) dependent on qualifications and experience. Actual Salary £16,814 to £17,366 per annum (which includes paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods).
We are seeking to appoint a hardworking, knowledgeable and empathetic Learning Support Assistant who can support pupils in EYFS and pupils with additional needs.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a person who:
1. has high expectations of the children and themselves with a passion for raising standards and attainment
2. can think creatively to engage, enthuse and motivate children to learn
3. is passionate about supporting all pupils, demonstrating empathy and understanding of different needs
4. is confident and able to work with pupils with challenging needs, including social and emotional needs/behaviours
5. has a good understanding of the EYFS and primary curriculum and skills to assist pupils in developing a good standard of attainment
6. has a good understanding of how to support children with pastoral needs
7. is confident and able to support pupils in small groups and 1:1
8. works well as part of a team and has a commitment to improving and developing their own practice
