Environmental Manager (Lead)

An opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Manager (Lead) to join the team at Galliford Try. Please note this role is Sabbatical Cover and available for a period of one year only.
As Environmental Lead, you will support the Head of Environmental on all environmental aspects. You will support and implement the Environmental strategy and systems to ensure that the delivery of our operations meets exemplary environmental standards. This role supports improvement and consistency in performance, ensuring compliance with management systems, and implementing continual improvement initiatives and ensuring consistency across our Buildings and Specialist Services business units.
What you will be doing:
* Foster and support an inclusive, open, transparent, and collaborative environment.
* Support the implementation of our E strategy to drive continual improvement through the business addressing short-, medium-, and long-term growth and learning.
* Proactively drive and promote our behavioural culture programme in line with the business.
* Represent and promote the E Enabling Function in internal and external meetings, workshops, management reviews and forums.
* Implement our environmental management system, taking account of client requirements.
* Engage with internal and external key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
* Provide environmental input to operational teams from the planning stage through to completion of any works.
* Support operational staff in the review of high-risk method statements and risk assessments.
* Conduct environmental reviews and inspections at our workplaces regularly.
* Assist in onboarding and management review of our supply chain partners.
* Support our learning and development programme by preparing and delivering training and awareness sessions.
* Utilise environmental performance KPIs to review performance and drive continual improvement.
* Investigate incidents and non-conformities, producing reports and leading opportunities for improvement.
About You:

* Highly collaborative with outstanding relationship-building capacity.
* Able to evidence a systematic approach to identify and analyse problems.
* Ideally experienced in environmental management in regulated markets.
* Proven in environmental management, systems, risks, and legal frameworks.
* Experienced in delivering environmental roles in a project lifecycle environment.
* Experienced in producing and delivering learning and development programmes.
* Knowledge of data analytics and reporting systems.
* Full driving licence and willingness to travel across projects/contracts.
* Competent use of IT including Microsoft Office and database systems.
