Anexciting and interesting vacancy has presented within the Rharian Fields Specialist Eating Disorder Unit, whichoffers a multi-disciplinary and comprehensive service to individualsexperiencing complex eating disorders. We compriseof 8 beds, providing inpatient and day patient services for people aged from 17years old upwards, catering for both male and female service users. We accept clients detained under the MentalHealth Act and those requiring nasogastric feeding. Weare looking for a kind, caring and compassionate individual, who is highlymotivated, proactive and dedicated to working with service users with complexeating disorders. Experience isdesirable, but not essential as training will be provided. Main duties of the job You must be an excellent team player, being able towork both autonomously with our service users under supervision of senior staffmembers. You must have outstandingverbal and written communication skills that allow you to build and maintainprofessional working relationships with services users and the wider multi-disciplinaryteam. The role will require you to build therapeutic relationships,facilitate therapeutic groups and 1-1 work with appropriate support. You will also be required to develop yourclinical skills by supporting qualified nursing staff with nursing observationsincluding taking blood pressures, temperatures, blood glucose levels, ECGs, weight and accurately recording results. You will also be required to provide meal andpost meal support for our service users as well as promoting normalised eatingin all aspects of their life. Rharian Fields is a therapeutic environment, providingcomplimentary therapies including Reiki, Indian head massage, reflexology., To support individuals in their care treatment plansunder the supervision of senior staff, using communication and the therapeuticrelationship as a means to evoke change. To take a role of supporting individuals within theinpatient and day-patient services in respect of their nutritional requirementsand have a good understanding of balanced diets as well as the enhancednutrition required for those with an eating disorder To have a working understanding of NICE guidelines forEating Disorders and follow this in your daily work. To deliver of a range of social and recreationalinterventions with guidance from senior staff, both for inpatients and daypatients. To have a good understanding of the care pathways for thosewith a diagnosis of eating disorders and associated co morbidities and developskills in order to deliver aspects of the care pathways under the supervisionof senior staff To attend training courses to develop own professionaldevelopment with particular emphasis on eating disorder specific training aswell as completing all mandatory training. Develop self by reading around the subject, attendingsupervision and learning from experienced members of the team to gain a betterunderstanding of the illness and its treatments

* NVQ Level 2 in care or equivalent or willingness to work toward this within 3 years

Desirable Specialist training in eating disorder Experience Essential Experience working in a health and / or social care setting Desirable Experience working with eating disorders Knowledge Essential Knowledge and awareness of mental health and eating disorder Desirable Experience in relevant clinical field,
