We are desperately seeking positive, enthusiastic & experienced Social Emotional Mental Health Learning Mentors with exceptional behaviour management skills to work with an Alternative Provision for young males with Social Emotional Mental Health and other needs. It is based in Stafford and offers an alternative curriculum to students aged from 11 – 16 who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education due to social emotional mental health or behavioural needs.
The Provision are looking for strong, experienced individuals who are resilient, friendly and flexible. People who have worked in backgrounds involving discipline, teamwork and experience of working with challenging behaviours such as the armed forces, the police and in prisons will likely do exceptionally well.
The provision has an excellent reputation and is a great place to work; the staff are welcoming, friendly and supportive of one another.
The ideal Social Emotional Mental Health Learning Mentor will have:
• A good knowledge of the national curriculum
• The initiative, ability, and desire to deliver fun and engaging support in class
• The ability to build good relationships with the staff and pupils
• The ability to deal with challenging behaviour
• The ability to work 1 to 1 with students
