Facilities Engineer
Location: St Helens
Salary: To c£60k neg dep exp + exceptional benefits
Our client is part of a multi-billion-pound global organisation employing more than 70,000 staff in more than 100 countries and is recognised as a market leader in their niche manufacturing sector.
As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth for 2024 and beyond, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and proactive Facilities Engineer to complement their established and professional team based in Merseyside.
Responsibilities:
1. Supervise, control, and maintain plants in a multidisciplinary capacity to ensure all customer demands are met with minimal support to meet agreed budget targets.
2. Plan and co-ordinate maintenance activities at the main site and satellite locations to agreed company and industry standards.
3. Supervise internal and contract personnel in accordance with Permit to Work requirements.
4. Actively support the site's safety, health, environmental & quality goals and targets.
5. Act as a senior person on site for plant emergencies and implement any appropriate site emergency plans as required.
6. Inspect and check all operating plant and machinery on a regular basis, including diagnosing faults and providing feedback for rectification.
7. Participate in maintaining the site's on-call system.
Qualifications:
1. Realistically qualified to at least HNC level or above in a relevant engineering discipline (Instrumentation, Electrical or Mechanical).
2. Demonstrate at least 4 years proven practical experience gained in a similar role.
3. Good base knowledge and understanding of industry and statutory standards and codes of practice.
4. Detailed knowledge of Permit to Work procedures.
5. Good understanding of current Health, Safety and Environment legislation (NEBOSH certificate preferred but not essential).
6. Knowledge of operating chemical and process plant equipment.
7. Ability to provide a high standard of customer service whilst working under pressure.
