The post holder is responsible for promoting continence and providing specialist assessment and diagnostic intervention enabling treatment and management packages of care, for patients with bladder and bowel dysfunction. They are required to provide specialist advice and training on the promotion of continence for individual patients, staff and representatives of other statutory, voluntary and private sector organisations as required and act as an expert resource to other professionals, patients and carers. In addition, the post holder will participate in the development of the service to improve patient care. They will foster good working relationships with other health professionals to ensure patients receive optimal care, and provide an effective interface between the Primary Care, Community Care and the Acute Services.
