Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000
Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for manufacturing and continuous improvement? We’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join the Operational Excellence team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring industry-leading lasers are built and tested to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Daily Production Support: Troubleshoot production lines, identify root causes, and resolve issues.
* Process Optimisation: Improve production efficiency and equipment performance to maximise yield.
* Collaborative Product Qualification: Work with engineers to implement new processes and qualify new products.
* Maintenance & Calibration: Ensure equipment is maintained, serviced, and calibrated on schedule.
* Process Documentation: Develop and maintain clear work instructions, SOPs, and workflows.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
* Experience in manufacturing, service, or repair industries.
* Hands-on approach with a solid understanding of production processes.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Competent IT skills for reporting and documentation.
* Cleanroom experience is highly desirable.
Nice to Have:
* Lean Manufacturing experience.
* Experience with machine and equipment repairs.
* Experience in cross-functional team collaboration.
* Optical or mechanical assembly knowledge.
* Knowledge of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles.
Qualifications:
* Technical qualifications in engineering or science (or equivalent experience).
