About the Role:
As our North Community Service Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of mental health services across Dartford Gravesham & Swanley (DGS) and Medway & Swale. Your responsibilities will include:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the delivery of community mental health services.
Operational Excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations of a diverse range of services, including Crisis Home Treatment Teams, Early Intervention, Mental Health Together, and more.
Clinical Governance: Ensure adherence to clinical governance standards and promote best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with healthcare partners, local authorities, and community organizations.
Change Management: Lead and manage transformative initiatives to improve service delivery.
Team Development: Mentor and inspire a talented team of operational and clinical leaders.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is expected:
1. To be accountable for the delivery of KMPT strategy through the development of robust business plans, the setting of relevant operational targets, and the delivery of its activities within agreed budgets and to agreed standards.
2. To lead, with the Clinical Directors and Heads of Nursing & Quality, the effective working of governance structures, roles, and responsibilities based on multi-disciplinary approaches with an emphasis on collaborative leadership and teamwork.
3. To ensure there are effective relationships with all Service Directors to support our work with place-based partners including third-sector organisations, local authorities, and other external stakeholders.
4. To ensure there are mechanisms in place to involve key stakeholders in all aspects of service planning and delivery, to develop culturally sensitive services, and to ensure fair access to services irrespective of gender, sexuality, religion, culture, race, or disability.
5. Undertake workforce redesign including formal consultations as required.
6. Represent the organisation at stakeholder meetings/forums.
7. As required, take a leadership role for trust-wide Programmes.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role has responsibility for the day-to-day management of all the services within the directorate through the clinical staff and managers. This includes staff management, strategy implementation, service delivery and improvement, clinical governance, financial control, and delivery.

* First Degree.
* Masters degree/ MBA, equivalent level postgraduate qualification or experience.
* Evidence of recent continued professional development aligned with the role i.e. leadership / management.

* Post graduate qualifications/ research to Doctorate level.

* Expertise at Senior Management level across a range of subjects within a mental health or social care setting.
* An evidenced track record of success in delivery of safe, effective clinical services.
* Evidence of participation in corporate decision making and managing in a complex transformational change environment creating sustained improvements.

* Experience leading multi-professional and cross-organisational service development and evidence of successful delivery of agreed service objectives.
