Salary: £59,336 - £62,343 per annum depending on experience + a contribution of 10% of salary into a personal pension plan
Hours: 35 hours per week

We are seeking to appoint a full-time Director of Communications to lead on the development and implementation of a creative, vision-focused and mission-centred communication strategy.
As a creative and experienced communications lead, you’ll play a strategic role alongside the Jubilee House Leadership Team and provide leadership and guidance to a dynamic communications team. The role will focus on improving and implementing effective internal and external communication strategies that strengthen engagement with current audiences while also reaching out to the 1.1 million people of Nottinghamshire and beyond, sharing the Living Hope of Jesus.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communication and creative professional to apply their expertise in a role that has a direct impact on both regional and local levels. The successful candidate will play a key part in advancing our vision and mission through innovative communication ideas and implementation.
In this role you will:
1. Lead on the communication strategy for the Diocese, aligning with the vision and creating communications that are creative, proactive, engaging and missional.
2. Manage the Communication Team providing clear direction for continual growth and development in communications.
3. Collaborate with the Bishops to develop clear, consistent communication and optimise strategic opportunities.
4. Create compelling content across print, social media, and website platforms to engage with a wide variety of audiences.
5. Provide training and support to clergy and lay leaders in developing local communication strategies for diverse communities.
6. Build relationships with media, handle press enquiries, and lead crisis communication.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Relevant degree or equivalent experience, with at least 5 years in senior marketing roles, including PR and digital strategy (ideally within charity or religious sectors).
2. Proven ability to manage a communications team, collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, and work effectively in a range of different environments.
3. Strong communication skills, proficiency in social media, digital content, and video production, with excellent writing and editorial abilities.
4. Excellent decision-making skills and ability to exercise sound judgment in messaging that aligns with the Diocese’s vision and mission.
5. A clear commitment to Christian beliefs with a creative, innovative approach to communication.
