I am currently recruiting for a maintenance technician to join my client, a world-leading company in the aerospace industry.
This role is offered on a double days shift pattern with one week 6am-2pm, then the following week will be 2pm-10pm.
Roles and Responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician:
1. Carrying out pre-planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical assets including mould and power presses, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors and ancillary equipment.
2. Providing engineering solutions when immediate spares aren't available (retrofitting, reverse engineering or modifying equipment).
3. Working in line with maintenance technicians and best practices, complying with Health and Safety regulations.
4. Responding to reactive maintenance call outs.
5. Maintaining accurate maintenance and inspection logs.
6. Assisting in outage planning, scheduling and co-ordination.
7. Supervising contracted labour when on site.
8. Supporting and mentoring apprentices.
Skills and Qualifications for a Maintenance Technician:
1. Time served apprenticeship in a mechanical or electrical engineering field.
2. Stone experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC controlled plant and associated equipment.
3. Experience working in a fast-moving production environment.
4. Willing to undertake additional specific plant training.
