The MBE Programme presents a huge opportunity for colleagues across the technology function to play a central role in the design, shape, delivery, and execution of an enterprise-wide digital transformation programme. The complexity of the initiative, within a FTSE 250 business, will allow for large-scale problem solving, group-wide impact assessment, and supporting the delivery of an enablement project to future-proof the business.
You will be a key member of the IT Services team, responsible for supporting the ERP/System 21 Centre of Excellence by managing, configuring, and optimizing Power BI environments. The role will focus on enhancing reporting capabilities, enabling data-driven decision-making, driving user adoption, and improving business performance.
What you'll be doing:
1. Work closely with business users, IT teams, and stakeholders to ensure smooth rollout, ongoing improvements, and increased user adoption of Power BI as the enterprise-wide business intelligence tool.
2. Oversee the Power BI environment, including report and dashboard deployment, user access management, and capacity planning. Ensuring that Power BI services run efficiently and securely.
3. Monitor the performance and usage of Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring timely issue resolution and optimizing report performance.
4. Manage user roles, permissions, and security for Power BI workspaces, ensuring compliance with company data governance policies.
5. Coordinate the publishing of reports and dashboards, ensuring that data is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to the right stakeholders.
6. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Power BI-related issues, including connectivity issues, data refresh failures, and report generation errors.
7. Collaborate with business users and subject matter experts to understand reporting requirements and translate them into actionable Power BI solutions.
8. Develop training materials, conduct workshops, and provide ongoing support to users to drive higher adoption and self-service analytics. Facilitate knowledge transfer across teams.
9. Continuously assess and recommend improvements to Power BI usage, dashboards, and reports to enhance usability, performance, and business value.
10. Responsible for reporting and analytics ensuring data quality and relevance ensuring maximum user adoption and engagement from the business.
What we're looking for:
1. Power BI Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Report Server. Expertise in developing interactive reports, dashboards, and data models.
2. Experience in Power BI tenant administration, workspace management, data refresh schedules, and troubleshooting Power BI-related issues.
3. Strong understanding of best practices for designing user-friendly and visually impactful reports and dashboards.
4. Proficiency in integrating data from multiple sources (e.g., ERP/System 21, SQL databases, Excel, APIs) into Power BI, including the use of Power Query and DAX for data transformations.
5. Experience with ERP systems, particularly System 21 or similar platforms, is highly desirable. Ability to integrate ERP data into BI solutions effectively.
6. Solid understanding of SQL, relational databases, and data warehouses. Experience with database queries, views, and stored procedures to extract and analyze data.
7. Ability to understand business needs and translate them into actionable data insights. Familiarity with key business KPIs and metrics.
8. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
9. Experience in providing training and support to end users, driving system adoption, and helping organizations achieve self-service analytics.
