The Acute Diagnostic Oncology Clinic (ADOC) is a rapid diagnostic service that receives urgent GP referrals for patients suspected of having cancer. We aim to conduct investigations and diagnose patients at their first appointment. Many of our patients will not have a cancer diagnosis, but the objective is to ensure that all patients leave clinic with a plan of investigations, treatment or onward referral. The aim of this role is to ensure that the patient and clinicians have all required information in the appropriate place, with all the necessary clinic resources to enable speedy diagnoses and rapid treatment of patients to meet targets. You will work with the oncology team as well as a wider range of clinical and managerial staff to actively manage the patient through the clinical pathway. You will be responsible for facilitating and tracking the patients progress. This will require on-going feedback to the Rapid Diagnostic team to identify any delays on an individual patient. The pathway must ensure all patients are diagnosed and treated as quickly as possible, i n line with national faster diagnostic standard (FDS).
