4 Hours Per Week to support a young boy with Autism in the home and community hours can be used flexibly. You will accompany him on outings with his mum initially and when you have built a rapport accompanying him in the community. Personal care is involved.
He is 8 years old non verbal and is very quiet. He can become anxious in busy places and especially where there are children. He therefore needs reassurance and will be happy to hold a persons hand when out in the community. He is known to eat things which are not edible so you need to be mindful of this.
He enjoys visiting the park using the slide and jumping he especially loves trampolining. He also likes swimming and playing with his toys especially building blocks. It would be an advantage to have experience of working with children and young people with autism but not essential as training would be given.
