Award-winning international renewable energy asset developer, heavily involved in Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and solar farm projects, with a focus on HV and EHV grid connection, many of which are among the largest in the UK, requires an HV Design Manager. With previous experience leading a design team responsible for the design of high voltage systems, this is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation at the forefront of renewable energy grid integration. As the UK business continues its impressive growth, the HV design team is expanding. The HV Design Manager will play a key part in this, overseeing HV design, managing stakeholder relationships, working with sub-contractors and technical specialists and getting involved with the tender process. Responsibilities: Manage a team of HV design engineers, including grid connection, primary, control and protection and civil engineering specialists, working on schemes between 11kV and 400kV Manage project delivery and budgets Secure and maintain accreditations Carry out feasibility studies, techno-commercial analysis and energy modelling for various renewable and clean energy technologies, including PPA, EaaS and EPC Put together outline work packages and scopes for contractors Create project cost and financial evaluations Liaise with stakeholders and attend regular project meetings Oversee the learning and development of the design team Experience and Qualifications: Previous experience as a Design Manager in the HV industry is essential, gained with either an ICP, DNO / iDNO, National Grid engineering consultancy or contractor A background working on battery storage, solar or other renewable energy projects is desirable Degree (or equivalent) in electrical engineering or related discipline Chartered status (or working towards) Strong understanding of HV engineering theory, particularly around primary, protection and grid integration at 275kV - 400kV This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced HV Design Manager, who is passionate about the future of energy to join an organisation of like-minded people.
