Job:
Cherwell District Council is looking for a Chartered Surveyor to join and support its busy team overseeing the management of the Council’s property portfolio. The team is tasked with maximising revenue for the Council from leasing out properties, minimising voids, and maintaining good landlord and tenant relationships – the property portfolio currently generates rental income of circa £3 million per annum.
You will provide support to the team to minimise the Council’s exposure to risk and liabilities, exposure to claims from third parties in respect of land interests, and ensure that statutory deadlines are met.
This role involves professional activities associated with landlord and tenant management of the Council’s property assets.
The Person:
You will be educated to degree level, hold a MRICS, and have strong business acumen with relevant post-qualification experience working within the property industry, ideally with a Corporate Landlord.
You will be an enthusiastic team player able to work effectively under pressure, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, both internally and externally. You will have excellent negotiation skills and the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
