The Senior Internal Communication & Events Specialist will help shape the internal communication messages and strategy to ensure we deliver the employer brand messages and goals to the head office and retail populations across Next.
About the Role
This is an awesome role with a team to manage and the ability to make an impact on so many different people across NEXT. The Senior Internal Communication & Events Specialist will be responsible for delivering Employer Brand, HR and communication projects and content for the retail stores, retail field team and the entire head office population of Next employees. This role will be part of the Employer Brand team and report into the Employer Brand and Social Media Manager. The role will require the candidate to work with other key stakeholders in HR, Communication teams and at Director level.
The main responsibilities will be:
1. Creating and managing effective digital and traditional communication resources and campaigns to engage, support and inform the entire business or targeted audience on key HR messages, policies, procedures and objectives – plus ensure it fits with the Next tone of voice and the Employer Brand.
2. Supporting annual and ad-hoc HR team project work that require communication materials and presentations to be created to a high standard.
3. Overseeing, maintaining and updating the internal communications platforms, including: Intranet, Emails, Community Spaces, Digital Signage and Promotional material.
4. Ensuring that all key stakeholders and their teams are aware of campaigns and content through regular internal department communications.
5. Internal Email management for the whole of NEXT and ensuring that all users are using it effectively and that the business is constantly evolving it’s approach.
6. Consistently and effectively growing the intranet and the way it is used so our people are able to find and engage with the right information and campaigns at the right time.
7. Helping support and manage events across the NEXT Enderby Campus that tie into the wider Employer Brand messages.
8. Working with multiple Internal Communication specialists across the business to deliver the Employer Brand and business messages to all employees in the most effective way.
9. Managing a team to ensure that they deliver on their responsibilities and continually grow with their development.
About You
E ssential
10. Experience managing an internal communications or engagement team.
11. Ability to plan, deliver and manage campaigns and projects on a large corporate scale.
12. Excellent copywriting skills - plus the ability to proofread.
13. Experience working in an internal communication role or environment.
14. Event planning and management experience.
15. Strong communication skills with the ability to manage upwards
16. Fantastic presentation skills – both verbally and digitally.
17. Experience in developing a team; both professionally and personally.
18. Strong people skills at all levels. Including the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
19. Ability to embrace and adapt to new technologies.
20. No trouble coming up with new ideas and loves creative exploration.
21. A great work ethic, namely; a motivated team player and proactive both when working in a team and independently.
Desirable
22. Understanding and basic skills of Adobe Suite - both video and graphics.
23. A good understanding and knowledge of Employer Branding and how it operates.

25. Strong understanding of Google Workspace
