The service receives approximately 3704 referrals per year, new and re-referrals and 2933 records where a referral allocation exists for 2022. Our offices are at Kimberworth Place (Rotherham), The Crystal Building (Doncaster), and St Nicholas House (Scunthorpe). The majority of non-remote clinical work will be done from these bases. Other clinical work may be carried out in a variety of settings including other clinics, Children Centre’s, GP surgeries and in hospital.
Cases are triaged by a multi-disciplinary duty team who aim to see all cases that are urgent within 24 hours and routine cases within three weeks. The service also provides a range of brief interventions and a range of speciality teams including Eating Disorders Team; Looked After Children; Post Traumatic Stress Disorder; ADHD; Family Therapy and Art Therapy. There are approximately 120-140 referrals managed in this way per month.
The psychiatric input includes consultation in complex cases, assessment and treatment on a range of diagnosis including eating disorders; depression, severe anxiety and OCD and psychosis up to the age of 18 (psychosis beyond the age of 16 is covered by the Early Intervention in Psychosis Psychiatrist).
