About the role This is a key role providing effective leadership and strategic direction for Security Engineering at our Hydro sites (Cruachan, Galloway and Lanark) at Drax. You’ll ensure that the team delivers best in class performance and that risk, contribution and expenditure are optimised to meet the prevailing economics. You’ll be responsible for Security Engineering compliance, including NIS compliance and governance. Ensuring implementation of our NIS programme at each of our sites from an operational perspective, you’ll also evaluate and monitor effectiveness and delivery of the NIS strategy at each site. The role will develop innovative, strategic maintenance initiatives and plans that optimise risk, performance and capital expenditure tailored to meet Security requirements, both Cyber and physical and market economics. You’ll also lead an innovation programme to develop cost effective security solutions for Obsolescence, Operations and Maintenance. Running throughout this, you’ll ensure high standards of safety and environmental performance are maintained and improved through clear strategic initiatives and targets which are deployed in a consistent manner. Who we’re looking for The position requires a broad range of business and technical skills, including experience in senior roles within a large, complex security environment. You’ll have strong experience of development and delivery of projects. This will be coupled with detailed knowledge of the Network Information and Security Regulations, with a specific focus on the application of the regulations. You’ll also need to be a proven leader with experience in managing teams, driving positive employee engagement. This role requires the ability to build and manage relationships across a wide range of stakeholders including Government agencies such as OfGEM.
