So, if you're ready to take your career to new heights, read on In a nutshell This is a Fleet Technical Management Senior Engineer role and a fantastic opportunity to join our Propulsion Engineering team, providing technical expertise in support of the Virgin Atlantic (VAA) Aircraft Fleet. Day to day You will be responsible for the review of manufacturer's, internal company, and regulatory requirements; making technical recommendations and implementing actions to ensure aircraft are compliant with regulations and perform to their optimum. You will be responsible for specification and implementation of fleet maintenance and modification policies, investigation of fleet wide in-service defects and incidents including the formulation of corrective actions to maintain maximum safety for continued airworthiness, system integrity and reliability at optimum cost. You will provide technical expertise specifically on engines, nacelles and APUs, across the breadth of the VAA Aircraft Fleet to support VAA Hangar scheduled maintenance, line operation, AOG aircraft and heavy maintenance. Manage performance of the various product OEM's (Rolls Royce, Pratt and Whitney Canada, Honeywell, Safran, Collins etc.) to ensure they deliver against contractual obligations and provide continued support for the betterment of VAA. Represent the team and company on a technical basis during relevant stakeholder meetings and conferences. About you We're seeking an Engineer with an aviation background - this role ideally suits someone with previous Powerplant experience wanting to continue their Propulsion journey. We are looking for somebody who is innovative and places safety as their top priority. If this sounds like you and you have the below skills/experience, we think you would love this role An engineering degree/HND in a discipline relevant to aviation, engineering, or an EASA/CAA B1/B2 Licence (or equivalent) or relevant industry experience. Have several years' experience in working within an airline and/or engine/nacelle/APU supplier/vendor engineering department. Knowledge of CAA, EASA and other National Airworthiness Authority Regulations and experience of Part M/CAMO and Part 21 Knowledge of regulatory and vendor compliance documentation (ADs, SBs etc.) Knowledge and experience in working within Trax engineering systems highly desirable. Must be flexible and can adapt and respond to changing work demands under pressure while effectively managing conflicting priorities. Must be able to manage stakeholders effectively, both internally and externally. Must be able to work well on their own initiative and demonstrate strong cross-functional working relationships with VAA engineering and non-engineering personnel, suppliers, and customers. Must have a strong team working ethic, excellent communications and influencing skills, and be effective at conflict resolution. You must be thorough, detailed, and analytical in approach to work, with an ability to provide innovative solutions to problems to tasks that are beyond the scope of those laid out in the readily available manuals. Can interpret differing business messages to make informed decisions when dealing with suppliers or internal stakeholders. Be customer orientated, able to distinguish between a functioning product and a product that meets the needs of both internal and external customers.
