Position: Functional Skills Teacher Location: Barking (6 minute walk from the station) Salary: £160-£220 per day Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Start Date: ASAP Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs? We are seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Teacher to join our dynamic and supportive team at our SEN school in Barking. About the Role: As a Functional Skills Teacher, you will deliver engaging and tailored lessons in English, Maths, and ICT to students with a range of additional needs, helping them to develop essential life skills and achieve their full potential. You will play a key role in supporting the holistic development of our students, preparing them for independent living, further education, or employment. Key Responsibilities: * Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons in Functional Skills (English, Maths, and ICT). * Create a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment. * Assess and monitor students' progress, providing regular feedback to parents, carers, and colleagues. * Develop individual learning plans to meet the diverse needs of each student. * Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists and support staff. * Promote positive behaviour and social development. What We’re Looking For: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. * Experience working with students with SEN, particularly those with Autism, ADHD, or complex needs. * Knowledge of Functional Skills curriculum and assessment frameworks. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach. * Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles.
