Senior Datacentre Engineer - Manchester Due to a forthcoming retirement, a succession plan is in place and the position of Senior Datacentre Engineer has become available to join our Infrastructure Services team. The Infrastructure Services team provides a wide portfolio of this technology, including end-user compute equipment, on-premise server estate, messaging & collaboration tools (mainly O365) backups, patching services amongst other things. Working as part of the Infrastructure Services team, you will be the Senior Engineer responsible for the operations of a small datacentre in our Manchester office, with a colocation DR site located in Farnborough. You will be responsible for the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of datacentre systems, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of servers, networking equipment, and storage. You will be based primarily at the Manchester office, with the ability to work from home depending on current workload. Occasional travel to other Costain locations including Farnborough will be a part of the role so a current Driving Licence is essential. Out of hours working (including participating in an on-call rota) may be also required along with eligibility for Security Clearance.
