Job summary Imperial College London and the University of Cumbria have entered into a partnership to form the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine (PCSM), based at the University of Cumbria at the Carlisle Fusehill street campus. Professional Development Tutors (PDTs) will each have a tutorial group of approximately ten medical students. The PDT will support each student to realise their academic, personal, and professional aspirations while in medical school, and during their professional practice. Main duties of the job Promote the development of your tutorial group by holding learner-centred conversations, drawing on adult learning principles and coaching approaches. Monitor students' academic and clinical progress through the programme, supporting them to improve their performance and celebrating their achievements. Support the students in developing and sustaining their professional collaboration with the local healthcare community, preparing them to practise in the local NHS. Proactively monitor and support their wellbeing, discussing day to day issues but signposting more complex needs to relevant wellbeing, disability or finance support services.
