West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust
We are seeking a motivated individual to work as a substantive consultant in the Urology department to support our growing demand for urological services for our local population. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and expanding team devoted to providing the very best care for our patients. The trust has ambitious plans to rebuild the Watford site and also build a dedicated Urology Centre housing out-patient clinics, diagnostic and administrative support services, providing state-of-the-art facilities for both staff and patients.
We are keen to develop our existing renal and robotic surgery service having acquired both the CMR and Da Vinci robotic systems. Furthermore, we also need to develop our female and functional urology service.
Main duties of the job
This role aims to complement our existing urology services. While experience in renal robotic surgery or female and functional urology is beneficial, it is not essential. The successful candidate will join a 1 in 7 Consultant rota with 24/7 middle-grade support and will have the opportunity to lead and improve a sub-specialist service. Other leadership development opportunities are available.
Although the post can commence as soon as possible, there is the potential for delaying the start date to meet the requirements of a high-quality candidate.
