About the role
The purpose of the local business unit (LBU) trainer is to ensure that all required engineering training needs are identified and met while maintaining and developing engineers' competency in line with future technologies and business needs.
It involves setting high standards in diagnostics and repairs by acting as a key point of contact for in-depth fault diagnoses and repair support. The role also includes providing technical advice, conducting vehicle inspections, and carrying out maintenance and repairs in accordance with First Bus approved procedures to keep vehicles in optimal working condition.
Additionally, it requires upholding the highest standards of safety by meeting all legislative and corporate requirements. Ensuring that workshop staff stay up to date with the latest skills and knowledge through supervision, training, and guidance is also essential, along with effectively distributing and communicating technical information.
Salary: £45,000 per year
Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays
Hours per week: 38.
About you
* You must be a UK resident (essential)
* You must have training experience – proficient in training methodologies and soft skills (communication skills, critical thinking, time management, team building, etc.) (essential)
* You must be proficient in the use of diagnostic equipment including but not limited to Jaltest, Cummins Insight, Volvo Tech-tool, Actia, Kibes, Xentry (essential)
* You must be proficient in the use of electrical diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes and multimeters (essential)
* Do you hold or are working towards a recognised assessing qualification?
* Do you hold or are working towards an irtec master-tech accreditation?
* Do you hold or are working towards an irtec vehicle inspection accreditation?
* You will have the knowledge and experience to support with complex fault diagnoses on vehicles within our fleet.
