Brook Street are excited to be supporting the Officer of the Public Guardian (OOPG) in their search for a Temporary Administration Assistant, to work onsite, in a temporary, part-time role as quickly as possible.
Key Details:
1. Temporary - approximately 48 weeks with a possibility of extension
2. Hourly rate - £11.44, paid weekly in arrears
3. Location - Onsite at Embankment House, Nottingham
4. Hours of work - 20 hours per week
5. Office hours - Mon - Fri, 8.30 to 12.30, 4hrs per day
6. Start date - ASAP
The role:
Working onsite, you will be responsible for supporting an OPG officer in an administrative capacity, who is visually impaired, so you will become their eyes during their decision making.
Main Duties:
1. Type out/dictate handwritten information/evidence so the Jaws software can read it.
2. Transfer bank statement figures onto a spreadsheet in a format the Jaws software can read.
3. Create documents that mirror Sirius produced forms (due to the Jaws software not recognising the expanding text boxes on some Sirius forms/documents).
4. Cut and paste inputs from the alternative documents onto the relevant Sirius documents/forms.
5. Publish letters (on Sirius a letter is created in a reading plane, it is then copied over to be published).
6. Spell check letters/forms as the current software cannot do this.
7. Check that the software has not missed any relevant information on inbound letters, forms and documents.
8. Assist the officer with navigating Sirius as needed.
Essential Skills:
1. Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills.
2. Proficient IT skills particularly in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
3. Knowledge of accessibility software e.g. Dragon, Otter AI, Zoomtext and JAWS.
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Able to work independently and be proactive.
6. Desirable - Experience of working with reasonable adjustments and accessibility barriers.
7. Experience of producing detailed notes which accurately summarise the main points of conversations/meetings.
